Tatcha The Indigo Cleansing Balm 4.8 stars review

Two of my favorite things - Tatcha and cleansing balms. I was so excited to see that they had launched a cleansing balm and then I realized it was only available in the US (for now?).

You best believe it was the first purchase I made when I got to New York last month.

How to use

Glide the ever so cute spatula and scoop out a bit of the balm, a little goes a long way. Use the spatula as a guide, fill up to the line. Massage onto dry skin to break down make-up and sunscreen. Emulsify with water and rinse off.

Pricing & Verdict

Ok first things first, it’s expensive. $38 for a cleansing balm is not cheap and I personally think for that price the balm is too small. It’s 54g/1.9oz when most other cleansing balms are a lot more than this. I’d pay $38 if I was getting at least 90/100g. Tatcha screams luxury and for good reason, their products look and feel luxury but they could have been slightly more generous with the quantity in this one for the price tag.

Moving onto how I think it performs, the answer is very well. It instantly glides onto the skin, feels so soft turning into a light silky oil and it takes off make-up really well! It left my skin feeling very hydrated as well.

There was absolutely no irritation or stinging on my eyes, which makes sense as this cleansing balm is part of their sensitive skin range. I don’t have sensitive skin but my eyes can be sometimes so I appreciate that this is fragrance free and it doesn’t bother me that there isn’t a ‘spa’ like smell.

I adore the packaging, it’s beautiful and I love the spatula it comes with which also helps you to know how much product to use. The combination of all the great ingredients make this cleansing balm a joy to use.

Tatcha The Indigo Cleansing Balm conclusion

I treated myself to this cleansing balm when I was in New York and you know what, I’m glad I did. I look forward to using it but not everyday, just so that it lasts longer! Would I recommend it?

Yes definitely. Would I repurchase? Yes as a treat, if it was on sale or if they increased the size to justify the price. What I will say is this, I was very excited to buy this and I’m still excited to use it every time.
