TROPIC skincare review

Gifted products (no obligation to post)

I had heard of TROPIC skincare but I hadn’t used it and I had no idea if their products were any good. I am here to tell you their products are amazing. I was kindly invited to join their creator community which in turn has enabled me to try their products and although the items were gifted to me, I love them and want to share with you my genuine thoughts.

Who is TROPIC?

A UK brand founded by Susie MA when she was 15 with the goal of helping her mum pay the bills - I love this! The timeline of their journey can be found here.

Their products are organic and the packaging is either refillable or recyclable, a brand that truly cares about the environment. They have numerous best selling products but here is what I think of some of my personal favorites.

Morning Mist

Key Ingredients and effects

Avocado milk - nourishes the skin and helps keep the pH level in check.

Aloe vera juice - cooling and soothing, gives the skin hydration.

Tiger grass extract - also known as Centella which is an antioxidant and is anti-inflammatory.

tropic morning mist

Ok so I love The Morning Mist. It’s so refreshing to use in the morning, I’m already onto my second bottle. It’s lightweight, instantly cools my skin and gives it that extra hydration in the morning. I honestly spray it loads. It’s even more refreshing if you leave it in the fridge on a hot day and then spritz your face - chef’s kiss! It retails for £20 for 100ml which I think sits in the affordable category, with great ingredients - it’s worth it! I love the bottle too and I will definitely keep using this.

Skin Dream

Key Ingredients and effects

Plant Ceramide - these are lipids that keep free radicals out and moisture in, they help bind our skin cells together.

Bio-Retinol - a plant based alternative to vitamin A which has the same beauty benefits.

Murumuru Butter - a fatty acid filled butter with omega content which leaves the skin feeling so soft and plump.

tropic skin dream

I have to start off with the smell….it’s incredible! The first time I used this I couldn’t get enough of it, I wanted to keep applying it. It feels indulgent, smooth and sinks into the skin really well. It’s thick and creamy but not heavy on the skin. I didn’t even know there was a plant based alternative to vitamin A, so I’m really impressed to see that especially for those who have sensitive skin because it means they don’t have to worry about potential irritation or side effects. The ingredients are just what you need in a firming night cream. The Skin Dream has become one of my favorite moisturizers. It retails for £48 for 50ml which is expensive but you’re getting a gentler version of retinol and a moisturizer in one product that boosts collagen production as well as hydrating the skin and fighting any pigmentation.

Sun Day facial UV defence

Key Ingredients and effects

Hyaluronic Acid - doesn’t let moisture escape and hydrates the skin.

Hibiscus Extract - boosts elastin production, high in vitamin C and an antioxidant.

Plant Polymers - this helps the formula glide onto the skin to create a smooth finish.

tropic sun day facial uv defence

As a huge fan of SPF I was very excited to try The Sun Day Facial UV SPF. It states on the packaging that it also contains banana flower…guys it literally smells of banana and I love it. It’s not overpowering but such a nice scent and banana flower is great at providing overall skin health. It’s an SPF 50 which is what I use everyday. I used it on a couple of hot days we had here in the UK recently and it protected my skin perfectly. It’s lightweight, absorbs fast, doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin and has a satin feel texture. It retails for £20 for 40ml which I think is affordable. I have paid nearly double that for a 50ml so I would definitely say this is an SPF that can be regularly purchased for your daily skincare routine.

Smoothing Cleanser

Key Ingredients and effects

Green Tea Extract - full of antioxidants that protect the skin, help balance sebum levels and boosts skin cell regeneration.

Macadamia Oil - contains big amounts of vitamin E which help nourish the skin and has fatty acids which boosts the skin’s resilience.

Golden Jojoba Oil - this doesn’t clog pores and helps restore the skin to keep it strong.

tropic smoothing cleanser

The Soothing Cleanser retails for £22 for 120ml and you get a free bamboo cloth with it - which might I add, they are beyond soft! An affordable price point for a cleanser that has ingredients to help nourish the skin as well as taking off make-up and SPF well. It’s creamy, feels soft and it’s gentle enough to use around the eyes, it didn’t sting when I removed my eye make-up.

Tropic Skincare review conclusion

These are just four of some of the incredible products that TROPIC has to offer. Honestly, I am so glad and grateful to have the opportunity to try them! Their packaging is simple and pretty, mostly glass which I love. Some are a little heavier, so I’d say maybe decant whichever ones you would take abroad with you into smaller/lighter bottles. Their ingredients are so good for your skin and provide the beauty benefits that we look for, I will definitely purchase these gems.

Truly a great brand that cares about the environment, has recyclable packaging, is organic, affordable and cruelty free. So many positives and you should see how they give back, read about it here, amazing stuff.

All I have left to say is..Thank you TROPIC x
