Future Wise Slug Cream Barrier Repair Moisturizer review

When I go to America I like to purchase skincare that isn’t available in the UK yet and on my last day in New York (after thinking Future Wise was just sold out everywhere) I found product left on the shelf in Target. I threw it in my basket or should I say cart? And off I went to the cashier and here is what I think.

Price and verdict
This moisturizer retails for $24 which is about £18 for 50ml, I’d say this is somewhere in the middle, it’s not super cheap but equally it is not expensive and there are lots of other drugstore brand moisturizers retailing for around the same value.
I think the packaging is really cute but it’s a pet peeve that I can’t see when it’s running low or be able to open it to scrape out the last bits. It does feel really nice on my skin, it isn’t tacky and it has kept my skin feeling hydrated and given it a little subtle dewy and bouncy look.
I put this down to this moisturizer being quite lipid rich which helps to restore any healthy fats in our skin that may have been diminished due to things like cold weather. Here in the UK we are heading into winter and this moisturizer has been lovely to use to help my skin barrier.
Future Wise Slug Cream Barrier Repair Moisturizer conclusion
If you have heard of Future wise you would know that they designed the ‘slugging’ system so that multiple products of theirs work together to give you that intense hydration. However, I only purchased the moisturizer and it works just as well on its own and has fit nicely into my skincare routine.
Would I repurchase? Yes and I look forward to purchasing more from this brand when I am in Seattle at the end of this year!
Who is future wise?
Founded only in 2021 and launched in Target in 2023, created by Julie Schott and Brian Bordainick who are the same founders of Starface! For a brand that is only a few years old and available only in the states at the moment, it managed to work its way across the pond and onto my shopping list.
