Depology Review - Bestsellers

Disclaimer: These products were gifted to me for review purposes, but all thoughts are my own and unbiased

When it comes to trying new brands I haven’t used before you can count me in! Of course we have to be weary of any skin irritation and that’s what patch testing is for. But aside from that, what’s not to love? Learning about a new brand, what ingredients they use, trying out new products and seeing if I like them or not, is all part of the fun!

Who is Depology?

A Korean beauty brand. We all know Korean skincare is amazing, so many gorgeous brands to try and Depology is on that list. Founded only in 2021 by Alex Lee and Hans Song, the brand combines clinically proven ingredients and Korean technology to bring me and you, skincare products that work and do what it says on the tin!

Matrixyl 3000® Collagen Boosting Serum

4.6 star review

To understand what Matrixyl 3000® does, we have to understand what it is. It is a combination of two different peptides known as palmitoyl tripeptide -1 and palmitoyl tetrapeptide -7. These combined work together to hydrate your skin and reduce the appearance of aging.

Depology’s Matrixyl 3000® not only contains the combined peptides, it also contains aloe barbadensis, which helps soothe and protect, collagen which helps to moisturize and diminish signs of aging and hyaluronic acid to give the skin a more plump and hydrated appearance. It can be used in your AM and PM routine, after cleansing and is suitable for all skin types.

Replenish & Repair Under Eye Patch

4.3 star rating

Eye patches are always nice to use, they’re like a pamper treat. Sometimes I also use them because the skin under my eyes needs some nourishment. Depology’s Replenish & Repair Eye Patches feature a really refreshing hydrogel formula. Combining a variation of ingredients to deliver that extra moisturization under the eyes and help that delicate area of skin look more plump!

These contain ceramides, which we know are great for the skin barrier, hyaluronic acid which helps to hydrate and plump the skin, blueberry extract - which is an antioxidant helping support that delicate skin and algae extract providing that nourishment the under eyes because it is infused with amino acids and essential vitamins.

These can be used daily if you like or whenever you feel your under eyes need that boost, AM or PM and they are suitable for all skin types.

I am a big fan of retinol and I was excited to give this new one a go! I’m not new to retinol so I decided to use this most nights. I did get some slight irritation so I changed to every other night and my skin calmed down. Retinol is known to be the powerhouse ingredient for anti-aging and rightly so. Much like other retinols, this one also improves texture of the skin and the appearance of age spots and fine lines.

What I like about this anti-aging retinol is that it also contains a few other great ingredients that really help the skin. It contains niacinamide which is very well known for helping uneven skin texture and pores, it has vitamin E which not only combats premature aging it retains moisture.

Depology Retinol before and after

Due to the irritation I had upon initial use and having to slow down how often I used it, I didn’t see huge results but this is because retinol takes a minimum of 12 weeks of consistent use to see any difference. Use a pea sized amount in your PM routine, avoiding the under eye area. How to use this depends on how new you are to retinol. If you’re new to it I would start slowly to avoid irritation, once or twice a week.

Depology Review Conclusion

Overall I enjoyed using all of the Depology products, they feel nice on my skin and they contain great ingredients and formulas that work and I’d say they are affordable for the benefits that they provide. They do ship worldwide just bare in mind there may be a longer wait for deliveries to the UK. But as they say, good things come to those who wait! Would I purchase any? Yes, the Matrixyl 3000 and the retinol are certainly ones I’d gladly keep in my stash.
