Price and verdict
CeraVe in general is affordable and this cleaner retails for $15/£12.50 for 236ml - it’s a bargain. I was really impressed with how well it took my makeup off on a first cleanse and it didn’t sting my eyes either. It contains lovely ingredients and I like the packaging because a pump is easy to use, the right amount is dispersed out and you can unscrew it to use up every ounce when it starts to run low.
Now it does say it removes oil without disrupting the protective skin barrier and whilst I don’t think it damaged my skin barrier, it did leave my skin feeling a bit tight and not soft. I suppose this is the effect of foaming cleansers because they can strip the skin of its natural oils. It reminded me why I am not a huge fan of foaming cleansers.
Cerave Foaming Cleanser conclusion
With my oily T-zone I thought I would give it a go and I’m glad I did as it does take off makeup and oil really well. However, I love the feeling of soft skin after I have cleansed and so would I repurchase? Unlikely, but I will try their other cleansers!
Who are Cerave?
Founded in 2005 by Tom Allison, along with a group of dermatologists, a brand focused on delivering long-lasting hydration and to protect the skin’s natural barrier. It’s great to see when dermatologists are involved because they know their stuff! The brand’s name is quite clever, it comes from the combination of the word ceramides and MultiVesicular Emulsion (MVE) technology and so the name CeraVe was born!
